Story of the Week

Roxy, a gentle 6yr old fawn greyhound hasn’t had much of a life so far but she hopes 2010 will be the start of better things.
So far she has been used as a racing machine, during which she suffered two broken legs, one of which was untreated, and was then bred from excessively.
Thankfully, all that is behind her- she has been rescued from Ireland, where most greyhounds are bred, and is now using her big brown eyes to look for a permanent home.
She began her new life with a lovely grooming session, courtesy of Anita and has settled very quickly into her foster home. She is friendly and good with other dogs, very waggy and loves being stroked and admired.
Contrary to popular opinion, greyhounds don’t need much exercise (they are known as 40mph couch potatoes) and Roxy is no exception, being quite happy to laze about the house. She is speyed and vaccinated. If you are interested in offering her a home, a home visit and a homing donation would be required. Contact 01477 533 297 for more details.
