I have 20 years of grooming experience and specialise in nervous pets.

I groom many rescue pets, for example:

• Dogs that dont like a certain area being touched because something has happened to them in the past.
• Dogs that don,t like there nails being done.
• Dogs or Cats that have been aggresive or grumpy being groomed , from experience they are just scared.

I don't charge more if your pet takes longer if it is nervous, I would rather work with your pet to over come the fear. It does help been patient and making the groom a positive experience for your pet. I have helped many pets over come there fears of being groomed and it realy does help by taking my time and seeing what the problem realy is.

Do you have to take your cat to the vet to be clipped because it has become matted?

I started to groom cats well before dogs and have managed to groom nervous and stressed cats that had to go to the vets to be groomed. Cats have a very short attention span when it comes to grooming it takes an experience cat groomer to be able to read the cats signals, as often you will not get much of a warning as to when the cat is going to scratch or even bite. I offten say to customers please don't be embarased if your cat is severley matted, I know how quickly and unmanagable the coat can become. I used to show cats so I'm used to grooming them for show standard. If grooming your cat in your home I can advise you how to handle your cat safely and the correct grooming techniques required to help maintain the coat in between grooming.
