Planned Litters

Cocker spaniels planned for late summer , expected colours are golden, sables.

Our puppies are brought up with love and affection, we take the time to socialise our puppies with children, adults, other animals and dogs.

They are used to all the house hold noises, so by the time they are ready to go to there new homes they are well balanced sociable little pups.

This is Niamh our Irish Wolf hound with one of the cocker pups , this is great for the puppies to mix with dogs of different sizes.

Mixing with our other dogs also teaches them how to behave, they already know "doggie language" from such a young age.

How Our Puppies are Reared

Our puppies are born in a properly prepared nusery in my home. Mum goes into the nursery two weeks before due date, and is already sleeping in the whelping box. The nusery is quiet and away from the other dogs, I also have a bed in there. For the first three weeks of the puppies life I sleep in the nursery, this is so I can keep a close eye on mum and pups, to make sure pups are not getting squashed, and to make sure all pups are feeding.

Mum is kept quiet and calm so she can look after her pups and rest with minamul disruption. We only handle pups at this stage if we need to. Mums and pups can get upset if constantly handeld at this stage. Age 3/4 weeks weening starts, and also this is when we start training the pups to toilet on paper.

Pups start to be handled now and the children can start to handle them. Age 4/5 pups are moved out of the nursery into the kitchen/dinning room, now the socialisation is full on.

5/6 weeks pups are now going out to explore in a secure garden, toilet training now moves to getting the pups to toilet in the garden. Pups are constantly been handeld by adults and children, played with, mixing with our other dogs and cats and a parrot !

8 weeks of age, health check at the vets, 1st vaccination and microchipped. Pups are wormed at 2/4/6/8 weeks of age and are frontlined at 7 weeks of age.

We also offer life time support and advice throughout your dogs life. If at any time throughout the dogs life you found yourself in a situation where you could no longer care for the dog, we wish for the dog to be returned to us for re homing.
